Korea Percussion Orchestra was established this year with the director and conductor Lee Gun Soo and Park Chang Tae, vice president of Korea Percussionist Association, as the art director.

The members include eleven professional percussionist and three professional composers and arrangers. KPO is the only percussion-only orchestra, and it replaced string and brass instruments with keyed percussions like marimba and xylophone.

It is also the largest classic percussion orchestra. The orchestra will perform symphonies, concertos and preludes with the soft sounds of marimba, high-pitch of xylophone, vibraphone and chime bells.
