Switzerland < Angklung-Duo>

In 1983, musicians,Georg Wiesmann and Thomas Steiger formed the group "Angklung duo" and actively perform throughout Europe untilthis day. They also present musical type of performance called, ¡®Klung Fou' and most repertoire was written by Georg Wiesmann. Their instruments are unique and fun to hear and look at.

One of them is called "Angklung," a traditional Indonesian instrument made of bamboo, and it is one of the instruments for a large orchestra in Indonesia. Most musicians make sound with Angklung by shaking one to two bamboo pipes, but 30 years ago, Georg Wiesmann reconstructed Angklung in a shape of large xylophone and tap on the 42 or more keys made of bamboo pipeswith hands or drumsticks.

The duo also creates sounds with pots and thick bamboo bucket. The miniature saxophone made with bamboo and many instruments made out of bamboo, plastic and recycled items are sure to surprise the audience.
