Sbandietories is one of the representing groups in the joust competition "Giostra del Saracino"that takes place every two years. According to many records from the medieval ages, skilled flag weavers were in charge of the parade in joust competition. At the end of 20 th century, the parade has been reinterpreted in a contemporary way and the old tradition of parade has been passed down.

Flag-weavers are also living symbols of cities that are more than 100 years old. Sbandieratori di Arezzo represent Arezzo, a beautiful city surrounded by castle walls that produced many distinguished artists. Their spectacular performance that includes throwing and catching the flags made the city even more famous.

In this year's festival, they will reenact the medieval traditions along with new contemporary movements. The colorful flags and their splendid performance are expected to gain the audiences attention.
